Carole Nelson Douglas I am sorry. I do not control the rights to the four last books. The publisher does and will not give them back to me. You can find them in e-book versions on Amazon.com and other online sites that have other than U.S. editions. Kobo is correct. Because I don't have the rights, I can't get them on Kobo. Perhaps I will get them back someday. Thanks for your interest.
Carole Nelson Douglas Alphabet Endgame is available in hardcover and same-sized trade paperback print (soft cover) I will always have my books in two print editions IF the publisher does not have control of them. Im with you, Sylvia. I like to read print.
Carole Nelson Douglas Yes, but in a new way. Yes to Snow also, and also in a new way. Can't say right now without giving spoilers, but the Delilah Street short story collection, Neon Noir, includes a story called "Butterfly Kiss" that might give you a clue. :) Thanks for asking!
Carole Nelson Douglas There are no plans for a new novel, but her five short stories are out in print and eBook in a collection called "Neon Noir". I'm importing characters and concepts from DelilahWorld into my next novel, still untitled.
Carole Nelson Douglas Alphabet Endgame just came out Aug. 23 in trade paperback and eBook. A hardcover with laminated cover (library edition), will come out Oct. 31, although it may not be immediately orderable on Amazon or through brick-and-mortar bookstores, who may special order the book in any print format. Or not.
Carole Nelson Douglas Sorry for the delay answering, Roy! I've been getting Cat in a Zebra Zoot Suit ready to publish Aug. 25! I'm sure you give Smokey plenty of good fishes! It is Midnight Louie III now, a shelter kitten when adopted and now a lean, mean feline machine, as athletic as a Siamese and all alley cat. The original ML was a cat I wrote about in the newspaper when I was a reporter before I became a full-time fiction writer. His obit has never appeared anywhere, so, as far as I know, he still is "out there" somewhere, like the truth.
Carole Nelson Douglas That's simple! When the alphabet series is finished with Cat in an Alphabet Endgame in 2016, he'll start a new series. I won't be using an alphabet, because it's now easier to indicate the order of series books in other ways. Thanks for asking!
Carole Nelson Douglas I"m sorry, no. There is a short Delilah story anthology, Neon Noir. However, I have interesting plans for her in 2016. :) Thanks for your interest and support!
Carole Nelson Douglas Thanks for asking! I hope not too. I have a lot of work to do finishing my 28-book Midnight Louie series before I can get back to Irene and Nell, but am hoping to eventually. Meanwhile, I may be able to get out short stories related to the series.

I need clones!
Carole Nelson Douglas Hello Roy,

Since I've written professionally starting a year after I graduated college, I like to think all my work is up to my standards, and work hard to do that. Yet I realize that in a series like the Midnight Louie one, which has all of the Las Vegas Strip for a background, readers will like some books' milieus better than others. I do think Cat in a Yellow Spotlight has a rather different milieu--middle-aged reuniting rock band performers--and a fiendish unexpected twist in the overarching backstory. :)

One Midnight Louie novel that I knew was risky was Cat in a Jeweled Jumpsuit, which took a look at the Elvis phenomenon. Elvis is an idol who was both loved and loathed, which is what intrigued me. I grew up vowing "never" to like Elvis Presley, and researching his life turned me around. I now think he was a tragic figure done wrong by those around him.

Smokie sounds like Louie lookalike. Louie and Louise are happy to be remembered and send regards to you both!

Very Best Fishes, Carole
Carole Nelson Douglas Hi, Joseph,

Thanks for asking. Cat in a Yellow Spotlight will be on Amazon and elsewhere Aug. 26 in trade paperback and ebook. It could be on pre-order on some sites this month. It will be on all the major online bookselling sites, and the paper edition is available through libraries and bookstores.
