Eula McGrevey It literally just came to me. I woke up one morning, and it was "there." I love to write and think about things, but I felt compelled to write this. Once I started getting things down on paper, the creative juices started flowing. I'm thrilled I followed through with it. Most people have really enjoyed my debut novel, and it inspires me to keep going.

Those who have read Progtopia are already asking when the sequel Progatory is going to be available. As an author, that is the best question to ever hear!.
Eula McGrevey Since I work full time during the week, I save all my writing energy for the entire weekend. For me, it's a fun and relaxing way to unwind. During the week, usually on my drive to and from work, I'm thinking about my writing--what I want to change, what new material I need to write. By the time I hit the weekend, I'm burning to get it all on paper.
Eula McGrevey Right now I am working on the second book of the Progtopia trilogy. Those who have read Progtopia are clamoring for more, so I want it to be perfect and meet all my fan's expectations.
Eula McGrevey Be willing to let people rip your manuscript apart. You need to be open to criticism. When you create something you often don't want to let it go, but at the same time, if it is not striking a chord with the audience you are trying to reach, you defeat the purpose of writing a book.

Never give up. Never get down about the process. Believe in what you are doing. When you finish your manuscript, put it aside for a while, then go back and read it. You may end up revamping the entire thing. My first published book is a far cry from my first version. I was so proud of the manuscript, but when I re-read it, I thought: this is pretty bad. I think my final product went through at least 10 revisions, maybe more.

And, finally just have fun doing it.
Eula McGrevey When I can't figure out what to write, or when I'm writing and it just doesn't flow the way I want, I stop. I walk away and I don't think about it.
I will wait and let it come to me-- it could be a few days, but at some point an idea randomly floats into my head. May be in the middle of my sleep. Could be when I 'm driving. I may be watching TV, listening to the radio, but something hits me and at times the thought can trigger an entire chapter or plot line! I jot down a few phrases to remind me and then the next time I sit down to write, I have the framework.
