When you create something you often don't want to let it go, but at the same time, if it is not striking a chord with the audience you are trying to reach, you defeat the purpose of writing a book.

Never give up. Never get down about the process. Believe in what you are doing. When you finish your manuscript, put it aside for a while, then go back and read it. You may end up revamping the entire thing. My first published book is a far cry from my first version. I was so proud of the manuscript, but when I re-read it, I thought: this is pretty bad. I think my final product went through at least 10 revisions, maybe more.

And, finally just have fun doing it. (less)

I w…moreWhen I can't figure out what to write, or when I'm writing and it just doesn't flow the way I want, I stop. I walk away and I don't think about it.
I will wait and let it come to me-- it could be a few days, but at some point an idea randomly floats into my head. May be in the middle of my sleep. Could be when I 'm driving. I may be watching TV, listening to the radio, but something hits me and at times the thought can trigger an entire chapter or plot line! I jot down a few phrases to remind me and then the next time I sit down to write, I have the framework.(less)
