"A child kicks his legs rhythmically through excess, not absence, of life. Because children have..."

“A child kicks his legs rhythmically through excess, not absence, of life. Because children have abounding vitality, because they are in spirit fierce and free, therefore they want things repeated and unchanged. They always say, “Do it again”; and the grown-up person does it again until he is nearly dead. For grown-up people are not strong enough to exult in monotony. But perhaps God is strong enough to exult in monotony. It is possible that God says every morning, “Do it again” to the sun; and every evening, “Do it again” to the moon. It may not be automatic necessity that makes all daisies alike; it may be that God makes every daisy separately, but has never got tired of making them. It may be that He has the eternal appetite of infancy; for we have sinned and grown old, and our Father is younger than we. The repetition in Nature may not be a mere recurrence; it may be a theatrical encore.”

Thanks and What's Next

True Believers,

I just wanted to say a quick (but huge) thank you to everyone who picked up Daddy Feet last week.  It was a great experience and I’m really proud of it.  Extra thanks go to you eight heroes who gave me such kind reviews.  And of course it’s not too late to add your review (and thereby become a hero).  I’m not looking to make any real money off of Daddy Feet, but I’d love for more people to see it.  Also, for those of you on Goodreads, you can now add it to your read column here.  So far it’s got a single 5 star review from a softcore pornbot.  I’d take it down, but, come on - 5 stars.  Also this is a magical sentence:

“Hot dog to get to work for me too baby I’m sorry.” — Kathi Fowler, robot and reader of Daddy Feet.

Anyway, thanks for all the support!  Over 200 of you downloaded Daddy Feet, and most of you were probably human.  I couldn’t be more thrilled.

So what’s next?  Well, even though it only took you 30 second or so to read Daddy Feet, it took me 6+ months of nap-time’s to finish it.  So next for me is playing Dragon Age Inquisition (it’s such a great game, you guys).  But 2015 is a different story.  Which of these sounds good to you?

The Day the King Fell Down
Doomsquirrels
Lost Dog
Untitled Illustrated Young Adult Novel that will take me the rest of my life to finish.

Vote now!  And just like in real elections - your votes mean nothing! Just kidding, y’all.  You should always vote.  Except in this case, because I’m gonna do what I want.  When 200 of you pay for my book, then we’ll talk book elections.

If I don’t see you, have all the happy holidays!  But I’ll probably see you.

FREE DADDY FEET

Daddy Feet is out right now on Amazon, and is 100% free.  Being a color picture book, it’s probably best suited to one of the Fires or any of the Kindle apps (ios, android, windows, browser).  Which means that if you are reading this, you can read Daddy Feet!  Download it, read it, love it, review it.  It’d be a huge help.  Thanks!

DON'T BUY DADDY FEET

Daddy Feet, my picture book for kids and anyone who likes weird books, is out now on Amazon.  Check it out here, and if you feel so inclined - write a review!  It used to be here in first draft form, but I took it down because, you know, it seemed like the right thing to do.  Still, DON’T BUY IT.  Starting tomorrow, I’ll be giving it away for free.  If you have a Kindle, it should already be in the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library, so you can borrow it right now.  But tomorrow, and until Friday the 5th, you can pick it up for free.  So wait until then.

Still it EXISTS.  That’s pretty cool, right?  I made a thing.  Here’s a little taste, because I love you so much.  Don’t let it go to your head.
