Don't stop. You can take some time away from writing but don't abandon the talent altogether. Write as much as you can and don't put yourself down by saying your writing isn't good enough.
You may not like it, or it may need some tweaking, grammar review, minor changes, but it's a step and positive one.
Experiment with new genres if you can or at least read about them.
I think good writers are those who read a lot. You don't have to leave your comfort zone but it's good to explore other genres.

And most importantly, Write and try to get your work out there, through blogs, contests, Facebook... anything. Just keep on writing.(less)

I put up pictures that would inspire me, and others, to write. I also research online for other prompts, whether pictures or phrases or ideas, to keep my brain working.
I also try to be part of writing groups or workshops because these often result in really good pieces and also offer a chance to develop one's writing and allow for new ideas; ones that I may not have considered before.
While, writers' block - in my opinion - is inevitable, you can always keep trying and you'll click with a particular prompt and carry on from there.

Check out Takhayyal's current and previous prompts and may be you'll find something to inspire you:

Raspberry Truffle Murder by Wendy Meadows – Book Review

I don’tremember when I had downloaded Raspberry Truffle Murder but after a two-yearreading hiatus, I’m happy to have started the year with this cozy mystery.RaspberryTruffle Murder byWendy Meadows is the first book in the Maple Hills Series. The cover looksdelicious but the book title doesn’t really relate to the book itself. Only thatthe main character, Nikki, opens a chocolate shop.“

I'm so sorry. I just read your comment on my profile now! (1 week & 1 month later!!! *this is embarrassing*)
Yes, we do seem have a similar interest in books.
I'll check out the stories you've mentioned.
As for the writing thing, I have so many ideas in my head (for poetry) but I'm either too lazy to put them down on paper or just well bored :$ - Being forced to write something is rather difficult. But at least it gets you writing.

Have a lovely day and looking forward to hearing from you soon
(again my apologies for the really late reply!)

Robin Hi, Nada, just accepted your friendship request. Did you read "Too Familiar for Comfort"? What did you think of it? How about "Blood Ties"?
I haven't been on this site for a while. I have been busy with other things. The teacher of a writing group I'm part of wants me to write a poem every day "to take my emotional temperature." I haven't gotten in one every day since she requested, but I kept it up for a few weeks, making up for days I missed by writing more than one. It's hard to make myself write them just because I've been told to--even though I know some will be chosen to be performed on a stage.
It looks like you have good taste. We are interested in some of the same books. The first short story I ever got published was about dragons. Princess and the Goblin, King Lear, and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight are all favorites of mine. And then of course, there's the vampire thing.
I'm going to go rest now. Hope to hear back from you.
