It is a period of blessing and joy.

Don has a fondness for cooking, reading, casino gambling, following his favorite Wisconsin sports teams, and making the perfect latte. He continues to exercise a unique and offbeat sense of humor and still plays well with oth

“The parousia of Christ to bring salvation (Hebrews 9:28), would occur at the time of the restoration (apokatastasis) of all things (Acts 3:21). But the restoration / reformation (diorthosis) would occur at the end of the Old Covenant (Hebrews 9:6-10). Therefore, the parousia of Christ to bring salvation would occur at the end of the Old Covenant. This demands that we understand eschatology as Covenantal and not Historical.”
Don Preston, Like Father, Like Son, On Clouds of Glory: A Study of the Nature of the Second Coming of Christ

We are told it is an abuse of scripture to interpret language any other way, especially prophetic language. However, when that principle is applied to the time language of scripture, all of a sudden, the cry for literalism vanishes. Indeed, one is cautioned against “wooden literalism!”

“It is time for modern Bible students to let the Bible writers address their contemporary audiences. Modern students need to exercise the most basic rules of hermeneutic. Presuppositional hermeneutics create interpretative nightmares that only confuse.”
