Dan Ladle is a middle aged man, originally born in Dorset, England in 1974. He spent most of his formative years trying to figure out how the universe works, then realised he couldn't and decided he'd write stories about the worlds he'd like to live in instead.

Dan has worked in numerous exciting jobs, in fields as diverse as environmental science, circuit board manufacturing and information security. He draws on his experiences to make his characters and situations as flawed as reality often seems to be.

He has travelled extensively visiting such far flung destinations as Tobago, Borneo, Crete, Germany and Slough. He recently made the move to Perth in Australia, along with his wife, their son and Snuggles the cat, who is still not sure about ...more

Dan Ladle I'm working on a few things at the moment, first and foremost is a comedy novel about a vampire, who unwillingly gets turned back into a mortal, I've …moreI'm working on a few things at the moment, first and foremost is a comedy novel about a vampire, who unwillingly gets turned back into a mortal, I've had that one in my head for a while and just need to get it written down. This one will be called Devamped.

Next is a book about my experiences of having Type 1 Diabetes since the age of 22 months. It's a horrible affliction (although there are a lot worse) and I think it'll help me, and hopefully kids and parents having to cope with it themselves, as well as other adults who might like to know about my ups and downs. The working title is Pancreatically Challenged!

I'm also working on a short story about a meteorite hitting the Earth, but I won't say anything else about that one because it'd spoil the fun. Don't really have a title for that one yet, possibly Getaway, but I'm not really happy with that.

Finally, I'm not generally keen on fan fiction, however with the recent premature and sad loss of the great Terry Pratchett, I'm writing a short story based in the Unseen University on the Discworld. I don't really know where that one is going at the moment but it's provisionally called The Last Leg. That one is more therapy than headed for publication, but I might run it past Transworld Publishing to see if they will give me the okay to put it on my website.

There are a whole bunch of other ideas buzzing about in my head but they are the main ones just now.(less)

"I'm an Aspiring author" is just another way of saying, "I can't actually be bothered to write a book", so pick up your pen, pencil, quill, tablet or keyboard and start putting letters on a page.(less)
