When I'm actively working on a project, I try to write 1,000 - 5,000 words a day without fail. Sometimes it's very easy and other times it is one of the most excruciating things to try and accomplish. Sometimes it's just not there! That is totally fine. I found, for me anyway, I have to step away from the material for a good while. Maybe an hour or two, maybe the rest of the day. I try to keep my mind open to receiving inspiration or ways to solve problems in the story without actually thinking about the story. I find that by stepping away from it, and immersing myself in something totally different, the solution to my block usually arrives on its own. Often it an idea of what I wanted to do with a character, or what I wanted them to say or what I wanted to happen in the plot...just happens. A walk, a bath, a binge of a tv show...all of these things have helped. My advice is to just step away from it, allow yourself to be okay with stepping away from it. It's not going anywhere, it will be there when you return with a rested eye.(less)

I am actively working on the second book in the Esoteric Alchemy series, and I hope to have it finished within the next 5-6 months. After that is revised a few times, edited more than a few times, proofread a final time, and then read through for any last-minute changes, I am going straight to work on another side project, outside of the. EA series. It is a sci-fi novella. I'll leave it at that for now until I can delve into it further. I am also a contributing writer for Witches Magazine, a seasonal magazine for the magical community.(less)

Finishing a Trilogy

[image error][image error][image error]

When I finally sat down to tackle the copious amount of notes that I had for a fantasy series, I will admit...it felt like it was going to be stuck in a permanent state of development. My concept, a story about witches for witches, did feel like a concept that would remain, well—conceptual. I had taken so many notes and had so many different ideas that it pro
