When that first morning light

Begins to transform the horizon,

Like a slow ember smoldering fire into the sky,

Transforming the dark with small wisps

Of smoke-like pinks and oranges

Until the sun breaks open

From ground and space below

To catch sparks of blue and clouds’ white revealed-

This is when I am reminded of the refiner’s fire in me

Refining me until I am His reflection
