The Lost Princess
I've become addicted to Ancestry.com. I've stayed up late and had to set timers to make myself quit. But I found myself giggling as my grandfather's lineage took me back to a long line of Kings of Sweden, a couple of kings of Turkey, and then finally Cleopatra of Egypt! She was my 77th grandmother!
I chuckled because my new Mermaid Tales book, due out May 7th, is The Lost Princess. Maybe I'm a lost princess too!
Okay, I'm not sure how accurate those little leaves are on Ancestry.com, but it sure was fun. If you try it,be forewarned, you'll definitely need a timer to make yourself quit. Now, I must find a good book on Cleopatra.
A Mermaid Tales Sparkling Collection: Trouble at Trident Academy; Battle of the Best Friends; A Whale of a Tale; Danger in the Deep Blue Sea; The Lost Princess

Albany Book Festival on April 27, 2013
Ga Ga! Yep, that's how I was when I met Mary McDonough (who was Erin on the Waltons) at the Southern KY Book Fest. I loved the Waltons growing up and was sure that I would have at least eight children growing up! (Then I had three and came to my senses.) Mary was so nice and very normal! Her book, Lessons from the Mountain, sounds so interesting. This weekend I'll be at the Albany Children's Book Festival and I'm giggling to think of all the authors I'll get to met. I've never been to this festival and I'm tickled that they will have advance copies of The Lost Princess for sale.

Dreaming of a horse!
I always always wanted a horse, as most kids do. I still do! So it was fun for me to write about Echo wanting a horse (a sea horse), but her dream is complicated by her sister. "It's not right to keep wild animals as pets," she says and that starts a debate that gets all of Trident Academy involved. Hope you'll join the debate in the Secret Sea Horse, which comes out today (Mermaid Tales #6). Tomorrow is the last day for the giveaway on Goodreads.
