I don't really get writers block.

I write 7 days a week. At the moment, working on my first draft, I aim to write 1 hour a day, sometimes a little more. As I finish up for the day, I open up a new idea on the page, to offer myself a seed to get the next day started.

If I get stuck on a point, I leave and move onto something else. I put it to one side and jot down another idea that's in the back of my mind.

Once I start, though I'm only writing an hour a day, the other 23 hours, the story is always with me, day or night, moving, growing, changing in my mind.(less)

Writing makes me happy.

It gives me a parallel life, so no matter what challenges I may be facing in my life, I have this other life, the life of the story I am writing.

I feel strong and positive when I am writing. It gives me energy for everything else.

I find that for me, writing is the most creative form of art. I start from nothing and I create something that didn't exist before.

One day I will die, but my books will always be here. I am creating something that will last forever and I like that very much. (less)

“You are responsible for your actions. We all are. Otherwise it's like saying that we are puppets in the hands of anyone whose personality is stronger than ours”
Emanuela Cooper, Three Women Lost in London

“It is true that everything changes constantly and when it does it is the end of something, a little death. That’s why it hurts. But it is also true that when one door closes another one opens.”

“I had the distinct impression that a veil of sadness that had been hanging over my face for a long time was gently being removed, leaving my vision sharp and clear.”

“I also learn from other people’s mistakes, to tell you the truth, not just from my own. We can see when someone does something wrong, can’t we?... So why not learn from everybody?”
