Michael is a dad, husband, son, musician, peacemaking criminologist, and associate professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at Fayetteville State University. Michael has written numerous articles and book chapters related to the cultivation of compassion in justice practice. His recent book, A Different Justice, examines what criminal justice would be like were it founded on love. Michael lives with his soulmate, Lindsay, daughter, Kinsela, and two prolifically shedding cats.
