I grew up in the tough and tumble town of Detroit, aka "The Motor City," and just as its name implies, it was a hard-nosed place, where only the strong, or lucky, survived.

Falling in at number five among the seven siblings, I felt out of place, like a fish-out-of-water, so I turned to the fantasy-world of books, movies, and music to make the unnurturing conditions and stern displine that I often had to endure, bearable.

Writing was not one of my goals; it just happened. After suffering some major personal, financial, and health setbacks, I found myself writing poetry, something I hadn't done in over twenty years. I found it to be cathartic. Hence, my writing career was born.

The whole idea for writing for a book was so different from the research papers I was used to. But, now, I think through what I want to write, and sometimes In write notes. By the time I sit down at the computer, I've just about written the whole book in my head. So, all I have to do, is write. Oh, I do think when writing a novel, an outline is good. Not, the basic type, but the type that requires outlining the main idea of each paragraph, and a bullet of the supporting details for each point you want to say in that paragraph.
