She said you just write something, even if it's terrible--because she said, you can fix terrible. If you don't write, on the other hand, you have nothing.
That made a lot of sense to me, so I always try to write at least 3 whole sentences every day. That way the work moves forward.(less)

Writing is the most fun when I realize that a character I've created wouldn't say or do something I think they need to in order to move the story forward. The Stillness of Remembering and other stories by Tom Goss
"There is something quietly old-fashioned about The Stillness of Remembering and Other Stories, and I mean that in a good way. These stories are less interested in spectacular twists than in the strange, messy places people find themselves in when mem" Read more of this review »
As We Forgive by Tom Goss
"As We Forgive by Tom Gross is a quiet but powerful exploration of what forgiveness actually looks like when it’s lived, not just preached. Gross doesn’t treat forgiveness as a simple moral checkbox — he treats it as a deeply human struggle, something" Read more of this review »
Menace in the Goldilocks Zone by Tom Goss
"What stayed with me most wasn't actually the giant space mystery. It was Roger himself.
He's an old man leaving the only home he's known for more than a century, taking his paintings with him and wondering whether he'll ever see his island again. The" Read more of this review »
The Rewards of Virtue by Tom Goss
"The Rewards of Virtue by Tom Goss is a masterclass in unapologetic, meta-fictional absurdity. Clocking in at under 300 pages, this comic fantasy reads like a fever dream born from a collision between Douglas Adams’ cosmic cynicism and Terry Pratchett" Read more of this review »
