Print books or digital books?

I'm running my first Goodreads giveaway, which is exciting. I hope my book, Guarded, offered as a hardback, will go to a nice home. It's pretty low maintenance, doesn't require food or water, although it doesn't mind being taken out to go walkies.

Its pre-release on June 26 is fast approaching, when both print editions will be available. Many might not know it, but the print copies contain a handful of ink drawings. I used to love reading "urban fantasy" for kids - still popular today in the form of Harry Potter and others - but grown-up books come without pictures. At best, you might find a map lurking in the fron or the back.

The eBook version, out on July 31, comes without pictures. Print books are special, and I treated mine with a lot of TLC. But most readers don't have the space to stock physical copies of every book they read. I know my shelves are bulging. So eBooks have their place. They're practical, can be read in the dark, give you all sorts of functions a paperback can't, and when you're done, you can buy the next book without leaving your sofa. And let's not forget, the most important aspect of a book is its content.

How about you? Do you still buy print books? Hardcovers or paperbacks?
