I have just filled in the City of birth section with Raunds Northants which was where I was born. This is a monumental exaggeration. Raunds would struggle to qualify as a town. I always reckoned it was the last stop before the local bus service fell off the edge of the known universe, but it was a great place to grow up.
I first left Raunds to go to secondary school in Wellingborough, a ten mile journey which took about three quarters of an hour as the bus meandered around picking up children here and there.
One of the biggest influences on me after 'O' levels was music. This was the time of the Beatles and the Stones and every young lad wanted to be in a group and achieve fame and stardom. Having no ability to play anything more complicated ...more
