Davide Toffolo è uno tra gli autori più originali e più amati sulla scena del fumetto italiano. A lui si deve la nascita di riviste come "Dinamite", "Mondo Naif" e "Fandango". La sua ricerca sul linguaggio lo ha portato a dedicare questi ultimi anni al romanzo a fumetti: dalla biografia del pugile friulano Primo Carnera a Pasolini, fino a Il Re bianco, la storia del gorilla albino dello zoo di Barcellona, Tres!
