25 Best Books About Dog Sledding

It’s disappointing that the sport and books about dog sledding aren’t more popular than they are. Or perhaps, I’m just disappointed because I think they are some of the greatest stories ever told. In the past I put together a list for the best dog books and best sled dog movies. Now I’m going to put together a list for the best sled dog books.

I loved and hated this book.

1) Almost nothing happens in the first 300 pages. Yes the ML meets the FL, but there's nothing at stake really. I really just wanted to know what was going to happen to Sera as I really liked her character.

First off, the story itself continues to be great.

The dialogue, at times, can be terrible. We're in a made up fantasy world and using idioms like "down for the count," or gestures like the middle finger. It removes immersion.

There's a lot of repetit

“There has to be hope. Not because it already exists within you, but because it must exist, period. There is no option to lay down because you're feeling hurt. There is no alternative. It is not live or die. It is live or live. Not because you want it that way, or because you've willed it that way. But because it must be that way.”
Wesley Banks, Hope in Every Raindrop

“There is hope all around us-in every breath, in every raindrop.”
Wesley Banks, Hope in Every Raindrop

“There are stories all around you if you only take the time to look.”
Wesley Banks, Hope in Every Raindrop

“...logical validity is not a guarantee of truth.”
David Foster Wallace, Infinite Jest

“The thing about people who are truly and malignantly crazy: their real genius is for making the people around them think they themselves are crazy. In military science this is called Psy-Ops, for your info.”
David Foster Wallace, Infinite Jest

“Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same”
Flavia Weedn

“When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself: the people I deal with today will be meddling, ungrateful, arrogant, dishonest, jealous and surly. They are like this because they can't tell good from evil. But I have seen the beauty of good, and the ugliness of evil, and have recognized that the wrongdoer has a nature related to my own - not of the same blood and birth, but the same mind, and possessing a share of the divine. And so none of them can hurt me. No one can implicate me in ugliness. Nor can I feel angry at my relative, or hate him. We were born to work together like feet, hands and eyes, like the two rows of teeth, upper and lower. To obstruct each other is unnatural. To feel anger at someone, to turn your back on him: these are unnatural.”
Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
