Future Giveaways and Interesting Books
My, Bethany, a lady's husband series, giveaway starts tomorrow, Sunday December 10 and runs through the 17th. This will be my last giveaway on Goodreads. I enjoy doing giveaways, especially when I release a new book but because of some changes I won't be able to anymore.
Goodreads has changed their giveaway policy and they are now charging authors quite a lot of money to list their giveaways. I will no longer be participating in these giveaways because I can't afford it. Starting in January I will be having all my giveaways on facebook so if you aren't following me look up NAK Publication-Nikki Kitchen.
I am currently working on a Scotland Highlander romance. It's really fun to research this time, though I'm sure I won't get everything right. These people were so interesting and I think it's sad how their way of life was almost wiped out after the Jacobite rebellion of 1745. I have recently found a fictional romance series that I love that is set during this time. If you're interested head to Amazon and check out Julia Brannon's Jacobite Series. Her sixth, and I believe, final book in the series is set to come out in early 2018. I'm impatiently waiting. There is some swearing and it's not entirely clean, but there aren't any extremely descriptive sex scenes. The author does a good job at historical accuracy, at least during the uprising portion of the books. My book is set during the early 1700s, not in the middle of the century so I won't be touching on the large uprising of 1745, though mine has more of the female point of view during the uprising of 1715, and again in 1719. Julia Brannon's series made me interested in the history of the time and when I started looking into it the idea for my book came about. I've only just started my book so it will be a few months before it's out but I'm excited. If you're looking for a good read check out the Jacobite series.
Also, an author that I'm obsessed with is Eleanor Meyers. I love her regency romance series. There are so many books in her series and she tries to come out with a new one every month. The stories are entertaining and a lot of fun, and only $.99 each. I highly recommend them, though you will find a few errors, which I find easy to overlook.
