Mafia Mistress Cover!!! and How I got the idea for the book.
I'm so excited! The cover to Mafia Mistress: The 2nd Book in the Mafia Series, will be finished soon. I have the book itself submitted so all that needs finished is the cover. Mafia Mistress will be released August 1st. It is the sequel to Mafia Princess: The 1st Book in the Mafia Series. If you haven't read it head over to Amazon and search Nikki Kitchen or Mafia Princess. The cover has a clover on it. You can read the first 2 1/2 chapters. If you like it the ebook is $2.99 and the paperback is $12.99. I would love to hear from my readers so after you read the book send me an email, message me on facebook, or contact me on goodreads.

You can also leave me a review on Amazon. I read them and sometimes I make a comment.
Mafia Princess is the first book I've published. It is the first in a four book series. I have a few other books I'm working on. One is a western, another is a fish out of water American Indian story. One book that I'm half way finished with is set in medieval times. Another that I've worked a little on is a time travel book.
The idea of the Mafia Series came to me in a dream, which is how most of my book ideas came to me. When I was pregnant with my son I had some crazy dreams and somehow they turned into books. In Mafia Mistress there is a scene when Nora and Nathan are in a salvage yard with a helicopter. I dreamt that scene and the more I thought about it the more the characters morphed from me, my family, and friends, into the characters that are in the book, and a year or more later I started writing Mafia Princess.
There is a giveaway ending on July 12th for an autographed copy of Mafia Princess. There are 3 copies up for grabs. I'm going to do a 3 book giveaway of Mafia Mistress soon. The winners will receive Mafia Mistress: The 2nd Book in the Mafia Series, before it's released, depending on how far away from Utah the winners live. If they live across country or out of the US the book may take a little longer to get to them. Right now the Mafia Princess giveaway is only open to the US and Canada but I'm going to see about opening up Mafia Mistress to the UK and Australia too. I'm not promising anything except I will look into it.

Mafia Mistress is out and I want to hear from you
Mafia Mistress came out last week and I would love to hear from my readers. I want to know what you think of the characters. If you have a favorite character or one that you can't stand. All of the characters have a place in my heart but I still have certain ones I cheer for. What do you think of the storylines in Mafia Princess and Mafia Mistress? Haven't read the books? Head over to Amazon and search Nikki Kitchen for the ebook. If you prefer a paperback (which I do) go to createspace.com and change the search from site to shop and search Nikki Kitchen or Mafia Princess or Mafia Mistress. If you buy from createspace you'll be purchasing it directly from the company who prints the books.
I still have about 100 pages left to write in the 4th (and last) book in the series but I've put it on hold for a week or so because I've started the editing process for the 3rd book, Mafia Queen. This book will be out November 1st so I have to get it ready to be released.
Send me a message, I'd love to hear from you. I can be contacted at

Reviews
I would love to know what you think about the Mafia Series. There are some ratings but I'd like more. If you've read the books please consider rating it and writing a review. If you've already rated the books go back and write a review. I know what my family and friends think but now I'd like to know what you think. I'm also curious about how you found the books so if you wouldn't mind mention that in your review. I read all of them and I try to comment, though I don't comment on all of them. One more thing, if you like the books tell a friend and share Nora's story. The ebook is available on Amazon and you can get the paperback on createspace.com and Amazon.

Mafia Series and all the changes
I have made a few changes to my Mafia Series. First, because I haven't had time, and the book has not been flowing as well as I'd like, book four's, Retired Mafia, release date has been pushed back to March 1st instead of February 1st. I'll still have a giveaway, which will start January 19th. I know this is an inconvenience but I feel that it can't be helped. I also like the idea of the book being released in March, St Patrick's Day!
Second, last night while I was writing I looked down at page 473. Book four would have been 550-600 pages and I really don't like the idea of the last book being twice the size of the other three books in the series. So... I have decided to split this book. There will be five books in the Mafia Series. I feel this is a positive because the last book was feeling rushed and I felt like I was pushing past things that should have had more detail and I should have spent more time on. I feel like I was hurrying past things and condensing them so I could fit everything into the book. Now I have time and room to fit everything in. I feel this is a negative because I have no idea what I'm going to name the fifth book. I'm also inconveniencing my wonderful friend who designs my book covers. Thank goodness she has patience with me.
Check back in a few weeks for my book giveaway and you can head over to my Facebook page now for a chance to win a Sneakpeak at book four.
I hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas and I wish all of you the best in the New Year.

Giveaways and Contests
There are a couple of fun things going on. The 4th book in the Mafia Series, Retired Mafia, comes out March 1st! Head over to Amazon and pre-order the eBook. Unfortunately you can't pre-order the paperback.
On Goodreads I'm having a giveaway but you better hurry! It ends this Friday, 19th.
There is also a contest on Facebook (search NAK Publication). You answer questions, share posts, and tell friends about the series to enter, so lots of ways to enter the contest. The winner will get a paperback of Retired Mafia. The rules are on the posts, along with the questions. All messages must reach me by Thursday, Midnight, MST, and you can answer all the questions in one message.
I'm working on the 5th, and final, book in the Mafia Series, family Mafia. I'm about 2/3 finished and I'm hoping to be finished by the end of the month so I can get it to my editor, then have the cover made. This book will be released June 1st, then I'll start researching for my next book. I have a few ideas in mind and a few books already started so it will be interesting to see which topic takes over my mind.
I'm excited to finish the Mafia Series and share my new books with all of you. Hopefully they will be received as well as the Mafia Series. I was a little worried when I first decided it was time to publish the series because I've never put myself out there like that but all of my readers have been wonderful and so positive. Thank you!

family Mafia
I'm working as fast as I can to finish family Mafia. I would love to release it a month early since I released Retired Mafia a month late. Also, May will be a year since Mafia Princess came out. Right now my process is taking a while since I can only concentrate to write at night. And I prefer to go to a local grocery store and sit by the deli. It's calmer than my house since I'm worrying when my kids or husband are going to wake up and interrupt me. I've been able to get a lot done but once I write it I have to find time to type it, which can take quite a while since I'm able to write at least ten pages a night when I'm at the grocery store and my kids love to interrupt me whenever I'm working on the books. But that's what kids do. Anytime you need some time to work on something that's when they need Mommy the most. It's a good thing they're cute and give good kisses and hugs. Anyway, typing, that's what I'm doing right now. I'm taking a break for a few minutes but then I'm getting back at it. If I can keep on this pace I should be finished with the book by the end of the week and the book will be released May 2nd. I'll make sure to post when I have an official release date. I'm glad all of you are enjoying the books and I would love more reviews and ratings. Also, if you know someone who you think would love Nora's story let them know about the Mafia Series.
I hope everyone is having a good week and check your calendars, St Patrick's Day isn't too far off! I already have my kids in green and wearing shamrocks!

Future Giveaways and Interesting Books
My, Bethany, a lady's husband series, giveaway starts tomorrow, Sunday December 10 and runs through the 17th. This will be my last giveaway on Goodreads. I enjoy doing giveaways, especially when I release a new book but because of some changes I won't be able to anymore.
Goodreads has changed their giveaway policy and they are now charging authors quite a lot of money to list their giveaways. I will no longer be participating in these giveaways because I can't afford it. Starting in January I will be having all my giveaways on facebook so if you aren't following me look up NAK Publication-Nikki Kitchen.
I am currently working on a Scotland Highlander romance. It's really fun to research this time, though I'm sure I won't get everything right. These people were so interesting and I think it's sad how their way of life was almost wiped out after the Jacobite rebellion of 1745. I have recently found a fictional romance series that I love that is set during this time. If you're interested head to Amazon and check out Julia Brannon's Jacobite Series. Her sixth, and I believe, final book in the series is set to come out in early 2018. I'm impatiently waiting. There is some swearing and it's not entirely clean, but there aren't any extremely descriptive sex scenes. The author does a good job at historical accuracy, at least during the uprising portion of the books. My book is set during the early 1700s, not in the middle of the century so I won't be touching on the large uprising of 1745, though mine has more of the female point of view during the uprising of 1715, and again in 1719. Julia Brannon's series made me interested in the history of the time and when I started looking into it the idea for my book came about. I've only just started my book so it will be a few months before it's out but I'm excited. If you're looking for a good read check out the Jacobite series.
Also, an author that I'm obsessed with is Eleanor Meyers. I love her regency romance series. There are so many books in her series and she tries to come out with a new one every month. The stories are entertaining and a lot of fun, and only $.99 each. I highly recommend them, though you will find a few errors, which I find easy to overlook.
