Alli grew up in small town Western New York state, thanks to her parents who made the inexplicable decision to move from San Francisco before she was born. It wasn’t as tragic as it seems: One time a movie crew came to town to film the critically panned Lady in White.

It's a great way to be creative without any real pressure. Sometimes I like to go to an art museum or gallery and write short stories or poems about the artwork I see. I write every day, anyway, because of my job — staying in practice helps, and so does knowing that I *can* write even when I don't want to.(less)

Top-Ten Superpowers of All Time

This show is part of the 2022 Asheville Fringe Arts Festival.

“[when]asked, “What should I do if I want to become a writer?”
“Well,” Doris said, with that steely twinkle in her dark eyes, “My best advice for
you, honey, is to stop if you possibly can! And if you just can’t, then get ready to work
like hell. Hang onto your day job. And remember, you may not make a living, but you’ll
make a wonderful life.”
