Barbara Justice was born in New York City, was raised both in the city and in the Hamptons, and continues to call both places home. In addition to writing, she is an amateur chef, knitter and jewelry maker. The Hamptons, and the small businesses that thrive there, serve as a source of inspiration for her. She strongly believes in supporting Hamptons businesses by “eating local” and “drinking local”, and supports efforts to preserve the environment and open space on the east end of Long Island. Music is also a strong source of inspiration, and her taste in music runs from classic rock to new country, and just about everything in between. She created Spotify play lists for Anything But Mine and Love Hard, which can be accessed https://play.sp ...more

Like the character, Jennifer LaBella, I've spent my entire life in both NYC and the Hamptons, and worked in a Southampton clothing boutique during my college years. The beauty of the Hamptons and my interest in preserving open space and farm land, served as part of my inspiration for Anything But Mine.

Feel free to take a look at my Pinterest page - I created a board for Anything But Mine, where I pinned some items that served as inspiration or for reference while I was writing: https://www.pinterest.com/barbaraj1700/

Music is also a source of inspiration for me. My musical tastes run from classic rock to new country, and everything in between. You can check out the play list I made for Anything But Mine on Spotify - there is a link on my website www.barbarajusticebooks.com.(less)

November = National Novel Writing Month

Happy November! National Novel Writing Month a/k/a NaNoWriMo is now underway. While I can't commit to writing the required 50,000 words by the end of the month (the two day jobs get in the way), I'm going to try to make some headway on Love Hard, the current work in progress.

In order to get the creative juices flowing, I mixed up a batch of Irish Cream liqueur today. It was the first time I made i Read more of this blog post »
