J. Lynn is a bestselling author, mother, and wife. When she isn't running between soccer practices, working on another school fundraiser, or chasing a new puppy, you can probably find her holed up in her writing room feverishly working on her next novel.

I don't believe in writer's block. There are days I struggle with writing. Many days, actually. But I've learned that if I just do the work set out in front of me, the rest will come. I love the analogy about 'writing being like a muscle.' I have to write every single day to find my flow. The more I write, the better the flow. I get to take these perfectly shaped characters and give them flaws, dilemmas, quirks, and feelings. I watch how they push their way through the pages and come alive. If he/she don't come alive, I'll kill the character. And I know how sick this sounds, but I get to control how they act, what they say and how the story ends. I'm a sucker for happy endings, but sometimes, happy endings aren't always in the cards.(less)

Sadness versus Grief

Sadness vs. GriefMy heart is heavier than it was yesterday. I ‘m sadder. It’s hard to find creativity when my heart is the one thing that drives my passion to put words to paper.Love for what I do pushes me out of bed every single morning.
