Geoffrey Robert is a New Zealand author and former journalist with a passion for stories that challenge, inspire, and reflect the times we live in. His latest novel, All It Will Take, is an allegorical tale set in a divided rabbit society — a story of resistance, reckoning, and the quiet courage needed to change the world.

Drawing inspiration from the legacy of Nelson Mandela and literary traditions like Watership Down, Geoffrey blends social commentary with rich, imaginative storytelling. His writing explores what it means to lead, to speak out, and to believe in a future shaped by justice and compassion.

His debut novel, The Alo Release, explores the dangers of genetic modification and how public opinion can be manipulated by powerful busin

Writing a novel like The Alo Release requires dollops of creativity, research and hard (at time mundane) slog.
Some days you feel creative and the ideas and words flow. On others the well of creativity dries up. The trick to handling writer's block is to recognise the dry days early, and instead of getting frustrated, shift your focus to either research or checking/editing. Or go for a mountainbike ride. That tends to clear the head. (less)

I'm putting the finishing touches to my third novel, The Ghost Shipment, a stand-alone follow-up to Finding Fabi.

When a young tourist dies in a surfing accident in Bali while high on cocaine, his billionaire father hires the investigative journalism team known as Aristotle to track down the drug kingpin ultimately responsible for his son’s death.

Ped Garland, a maverick with a troubled past and thirst for redemption, is campaigning to become the Republican presidential candidate. He captivates voters with his candid and unorthodox approach to politics, and bold plan to end the nation’s drug nightmare.

The journalists’ investigation leads them from the exotic resorts, seedy nightclubs and gang lairs of Bali to the lawless backstreets of Colombia and seemingly tranquil neighborhoods of New Zealand as they battle powerful adversaries determined to protect their secrets.

I'm aiming to publish The Ghost Shipment some time in October 2023. More details on my website: https://www.geoffreyrobert.com/

“I remember standing in the bush above this unbelievably wild river, and thinking this is as good as it gets. Exquisite birdsong, jagged peaks of the Alps beckoning like the spires of mystical cathedrals, the smell of moisture in the beech forest like an elixir. Nature in its raw, unpredictable state – at an entirely different end of the spectrum from the confines of a test tube or comfort of a biotech lab.”
