Read With Merri—Honey, I’m Home—Chapter 3
Sarah Thompson will do whatever it takes to save her childhood home in Three Creeks, Montana—even if it means buying out her brother one shift at Keane’s Pub at a time. But in a town with delightfully nosy neighbors and big-hearted shenanigans, saving her family legacy might just take the whole community.

Ready for a trip to Ashbrook?
In this episode of Read with Merri, we are starting at the beginning…Janine and Matthias’s meet-cute starts on Chapter One, Page One.
It’s a short read—think about those gossip sessions you share with a friend—long enough to keep you connected, but not so long that your dinner burns.
I’ll be sharing new video segments twice a week, so be sure to check back often!

The Toddler Whisperer
Caleb was half Beth’s height, yet he ran twice as fast–into the legs of the grumpiest man at the Cottage Cove Senior Center.
Amos Wainright jolted with the jarring motion. The lettering on his blue t-shirt, “I may be grumpy. At least I’m not a Grizz fan,” crumpled when he leaned into the momentum.
Beth weaved her way through tables and chairs being moved back into place. Except for Amos’s knees, in minutes, life would be back to normal for everyone at the senior center.
Some people w...

Bringing the Best Parts With Us
Remember when we were younger, and our parents would watch reruns of their favorite programs.
I’d sit alongside aunts and uncles on the plush couch, curled into the corner with a blanket. They’d say things like “I remember driving a Pontiac,” and take a brief visit down memory lane. Watching black-and-white movies with sassy heroines who always wore dresses and heels was nice. But mostly, I was there for the side conversations.
Then I’d get up to refill their water or make a snack run...

When Life Locks the Door… and Opens a Conversation
Dear Reader,
This week’s note comes from Home For Good. It is a story about a soldier’s return to his hometown and his reconciliation with the person he left behind. It also explores realizing that maybe love never really left. Perhaps, it was just waiting for the right moment to bloom again.
In this scene, Katie and Brock find themselves accidentally locked in a shed together. What begins as frustration turns into a quiet, uninterrupted, unplanned conversation that has the potential to fi...

Remember to Live
Dear Reader,
My love of the UK started seven years ago when I attended a writing conference. Don’t get me wrong, Scotland, London, and all the cities in between are great. But I love this place because of the friends I made.
Over Zoom and Messenger chats, we’ve shared the highs and lows of life after 40.
Grandchildren have joined families. There were a couple of health scares. And we’ve had discussions about important things like—does taking Biotin really reduce hair loss?
Once a y...
