William G. Saraband was born in the south of Portugal in 1991, where he lived until moving to Scotland in November, 2015.

During his MA in Medieval Islamic History at the University of Lisbon, he wrote his first novel, "Shattered Sands" - a sprawling saga full of political intrigue, magic and war, set in the desert kingdom of Rilmaaqah. He went on to become one of the 10 finalists in the first ever edition of the now famous "Self-Published Fantasy Blog Off".

He has since withdrawn his book from public availability due to not feeling that it was up to the standards that readers deserve. He now works full-time painting as an Abstract artist in Edinburgh, where he hopes to keep pursuing his writing and become a published author.
