Put it down and go for a walk without music… just walk and feel.

I have found that some inspiration comes to me in the shower. Goodness knows why, but I listen to it and follow whatever feels right.

Be open to receive inspiration and if it feels right, go with it… if not, don't.

You can write when you are able, fit it around family and work. You have to be able to accept rejection from the publishing companies. I was told by one in respect of the book now published, 'That it was a great idea.' Honey, it's a reality… cancer… and cancer in children is a reality.

Many publishing companies, I found, wanted to direct what they believed people wanted to read therefore I received nine rejections from different companies. The advice I then received from other writers, was do it yourself. The response to my book in less than a month has been overwhelming.

Trust in the book and yourself. It took 12 years to be published, but it is now done.(less)

New Year… new adventures

Last year was exceedingly busy as I worked with Castle Publishing to edit and have 'Theft of a Life' come to life as a softcover and ebook. My twelve year journey had come to fruition and I was able to share our story with you all.

The biggest hurdle to overcome prior to publication was admitting to myself that, we 'have' one daughter. I had always been happy to acknowledge both girls, but in orde Read more of this blog post »

Jodi Picoult
“You don't love someone because they're perfect, you love them in spite of the fact that they're not.”
Jodi Picoult, My Sister's Keeper

“The only thing worse than a boy who hates you: a boy that loves you.”
Markus Zusak, The Book Thief

Courtney A. Walsh
“Dear Human:
You've got it all wrong.

You didn't come here to master unconditional love. This is where you came from and where you'll return.

You came here to learn personal love.
Universal love.
Messy love.
Sweaty Love.
Crazy love.
Broken love.
Whole love.
Infused with divinity.
Lived through the grace of stumbling.
Demonstrated through the beauty of... messing up.
Often.

You didn't come here to be perfect, you already are.

You came here to be gorgeously human. Flawed and fabulous.

And rising again into remembering.

But unconditional love? Stop telling that story.

Love in truth doesn't need any adjectives.
It doesn't require modifiers.
It doesn't require the condition of perfection.

It only asks you to show up.
And do your best.
That you stay present and feel fully.
That you shine and fly and laugh and cry and hurt and heal and fall and get back up and play and work and live and die as YOU.

Its enough.

It's Plenty.”
Courtney A. Walsh

“It is both a blessing
And a curse
To feel everything
So very deeply.”
David Jones

Jack Kornfield
“The things that matter most in our lives are not fantastic or grand. They are moments when we touch one another”
Jack Kornfield
