New Year… new adventures

Last year was exceedingly busy as I worked with Castle Publishing to edit and have 'Theft of a Life' come to life as a softcover and ebook. My twelve year journey had come to fruition and I was able to share our story with you all.

The biggest hurdle to overcome prior to publication was admitting to myself that, we 'have' one daughter. I had always been happy to acknowledge both girls, but in order for this book to have life, I had to acknowledge to myself, without any guilt, regret or sadness, that now, we have one. Once I did this, the book became Nadia's story and took a step away from me. I was ready to share her with the world.

I write daily and I'm looking at publishing my children's book. I'm searching for the 'right' illustrator for the book, as I know there are lots of wonderful illustrators out there, but my vision needs to be met. So any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I have a story that I keep going back to… I started it several years ago while completing a Diploma in Creative Writing by correspondence. It keeps me thinking and focused on writing. I have no idea where it is going, what it is called or how it will ever be completed, but it will happen eventually.

Until then, now that our daughter is spreading her wings overseas, I will return to school and complete my Certificate in Relaxation Massage. I'm half way through it, having completed the academic aspect and looking forward to heading back in a couple of weeks to learn the practical techniques of massage.

In the meantime, I have friends whose daughter has me reading the "Percy Jackson" The Lightning Thief/[book:The Sea of Monsters The Battle of the LabyrinthThe Last OlympianThe Titan's Curse series. They are books for the 9+ age group, but I'm loving them.

I'm also reading, 'The Language of Flowers' by Vanessa Diffenbaugh The Language of Flowers and Davida Wills Hurwin's Freaks and Revelations. I picked up at A Time for Dancing and found myself consumed by the story. Loved it.

So in my down time, you will find me reading… lots of books next to my bed waiting to be enjoyed. Cassandra Clare's City of Bones series is waiting for my attention and I cannot wait for a rainy day to immerse myself amongst the pages.

Best wishes

B.
