Elle G. Mraz has several not-so-secret love affairs: peanut butter M&Ms, sweet champagne, and writing run-on sentences. She merged all three one day in 2014, continuing off and on until completing her first romance novel, Love Me Back to Life.

Elle met her Canadian husband in Guatemala and got hitched in Las Vegas. Together they laugh, dream big, and ponder life's great mysteries ("When did our junk drawer become a junk room?") while raising their two children, a couple odd rescue cats, and two even-odder rescue greyhounds. While she's done her fair share of traveling and has lived abroad, Elle was raised along the briny Atlantic coast of South Florida, which she'll always call home.

Then I drive by the ocean and listen to great music and something's bound to strike when I'm far away from the computer. As long as I can run a scene over and over in my head like a movie reel, I'll remember it when I have time to write later. (less)

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Elle G. Mraz For me, it's all about a feeling. Some people are great about being disciplined. I'm not one of them. Maybe if this was my career/job, I would be. But…moreFor me, it's all about a feeling. Some people are great about being disciplined. I'm not one of them. Maybe if this was my career/job, I would be. But right now it's a side adventure. So my advice is based on how I write:
When the moment strikes, write. You might pour your heart out all at once well into the wee hours of the night. Then, the next day, riding on the excitement of finally writing just like you've always wanted, do NOT read what you wrote, just keep on writing. When you slow down days later, read what you wrote that first day for inspiration. You'll be less critical of your work and you'll find little bits of inspiration to help you finish out your thoughts. Then just wait for the next wave of inspiration to strike. Before you know it, they come on a more regular basis as your thoughts gather a more concrete form. (less)
