How do you deal with writer’s block?

For the first type, don't s…moreI think there are two types of writer's block: the "what will I write" form and the "how do I solve this plot point" form.
For the first type, don't shy away. Write something. Anything. Yes, relax if it helps, but don't hide.
For the latter type, I usually switch to writing something else. It keeps my mind engaged, while also giving my subconscious some time to work on the problem. I think walking away from either challenge is a mistake. Writer's block is more often an excuse for lack of productivity than a real phenomenon.(less)
