If I am stuck on one scene or section of the novel, then I pick a sce…moreI have two tricks for getting past writer's block that seem to work well for me. If I am stuck on one scene or section of the novel, then I pick a scene further down the line and begin writing on that one. Usually, this works and the preceding scene fills in.
The other thing I do is to switch from typing to pen and paper. Often when I'm working on the keyboard, there is a more business-like approach in my brain. The simple act of changing to a pen seems to "switch" on the more creative side of my brain.
If both of those fail, it's time for a break. I play a game, do something fun or go out to dinner. Or it is past the time to get some sleep and let the brain work on the problem while I sleep.(less)

This book wi…moreI have two projects in the works for 2016. The first is a sci-fi fantasy called "O'Ceagan's Legacy", which I hope to publish this spring. This book will take you on board a space freighter with Grania O'Ceagan and her brothers on a heart-pounding adventure. The second book is the next book in the "Funeral Singer" series that I plan to publish this summer. I'm very excited about this story and where it is taking Gillian Foster. I am also working on the first book of a YA series that I think will be lots of fun. I can't wait to introduce you to those characters.(less)

New Promotion

It's been a while since I last blogged anything, but I have been writing. I'm currently doing NaNoWriMo and working on a 1.5 novel in the "O'Ceagan's Legacy" series that I hope to have out in Spring. It's a fun little piece to do and features that charming rogue of a puca (pooka).
