Taking in the Wicklow Views
As one takes the sight within
More breathtaking than the next
Rolling hills that bring
the valleys to the brink
In bathing light of the hazy sun
Brings the shimmering sight upon one's view
Distant harbours bringing distant memories of younger years
The hills filled with laughter and the joy
That these memories of snow did bring
listening to the words of yesteryear
from excited chatter of strangers
upon the grassy verge
Of sights that this so brings
Leaning over crumbling walls
bringing us closer to winter falls
As the mountains reach up to touch the azure
More breathtaking views are here to see
Take the walk along secluded paths
that bring to you
Hidden streams and bubbling brooks
Cars park, people alight
Breath catching within the views
Camera Lenses catching light
glinting softly within the rays
Pictures painted within your view
as the raising sun paints for you
Clouds dissipates within the heat
A gentle breeze against your feet
The rolling hills catching your eyes
as contrasting greens touch the ground
where one stands
Of Mountains named The Sugarloaf
stands within the distant view
Hats peaked upon one's head
shading eyes from the rays
People stand, pressed against crooked gates
Rickety fences collapsed upon the land
distant figures of dog and man
pressed hazily against the views
