Catherine Cerveny was born in Peterborough, Ontario. She'd always planned to move away to the big city but the small town life got its hooks in her and that's where she still resides today. Catherine is a huge fan of romance and science fiction and wishes the two genres would cross paths more often. The Rule of Luck is her first novel. ...more

I love knowing that the stuff in my imagination now actually exists somewhere in the reall world. It's like a live butterfly release, but less icky.(less)

Sorry, I just saw this now or I would have replied sooner. I've lived in Peterborough all my life, except when I went away to school. Now I live just outside it, more or less in the country. Peterborough may be a city but it definitely has a small town feel to it. Thanks for the kind words and the encouragement. I appreciate it! Thanks, Catherine (less)

The Game of Luck - It's out! It's out! It's out!

Finally book three of the Felicia Sevigny series is out - today. I honestly didn't think this day would ever come. It feels like I've been waiting forever for The Game of Luck to see the light of day. But now it's out and I couldn't be more thrilled! I loved writing these characters, creating this story, and dreaming up this whole far future Earth society that spans the solar system. I hope you en Read more of this blog post »

“it’s hard when I have yet another Martian blueblood in here, judging me. I never cared about any of that before, and now it seems to be bothering me all the time.” His expression hardened. “I hate it when you do that, compare yourself to things I have no interest in, because there is no comparison.”
Catherine Cerveny, The Chaos of Luck

“When your boyfriend headed what many believed was a multiplanet crime syndicate with aspirations to replace One Gov, you tended to ask questions only when you really wanted answers.”
Catherine Cerveny, The Chaos of Luck

“If you believe having a baby is the greatest or most rewarding thing you’ll ever do, you’re wrong. It’s only one facet of all the things you can accomplish, so don’t treat it like it’s the only one that matters.”

“If you are a reader, you are already halfway to being a writer,” she says. “For you have a love of words and pleasure from seeing them on a page. And if you are a writer, then you will find that you are driven to write. It is a gift that demands to be shared. You cannot be a silent singer.”

Kagama-the Literaturevixen I do like your books! ... and not for some bizarre reasons either. They are very good. You dont know how hard it is to find good SFR.

I really should finish writing up the actual reviews for your books so my reasons become a little less un-bizarre :)
