Once again, I'm deep into books discussing women and the challenges they face. I also plan to read Why Not Me, by Mindy Kaling, and The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, by Rebecca Skloot. Once I try to address their concerns in public, while respecting their privacy, all I receive is silence. We shouldn't be ashamed of the money problems we have, or that we may not know everything there is to know or we "should know". Just look at how disappointing the financial markets (and the "experts" who run them) have been. It's all a learning process. Besides, it's like what we learned in school: Your issues and questions may be on the minds of many other women. There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking the initiative and starting a meaningful conversation. (less)
