It takes place in a historic bed and breakfast which once belonged to a famous author. The descriptions of the old house were so rich with detail and history that I wished it were a real place so I could book a room there. It all just sounded so beautiful, I couldn't stop thinking about it. So if I could step into a fictional book world, I would choose that book so I could spend a night at the bed and breakfast.(less)

Their relationship just grew so much while I was writing about them and became so much deeper than I ever imagined it would, it left me in tears at times.

To pick a couple from a book I've read is a lot harder because I don't read a lot of romance. I guess I would go with Henry and Clare from The Time Traveler's Wife. That book brought me the closest I've ever been to loving the romance genre.

If I'm allowed to talk about TV couples, there are a few, but high up on the list would be Mulder and Scully from The X Files. I loved how the sexual tension between them grew slowly and when they finally got together it was so subtle I almost missed it my first time viewing the series. But it totally worked and I adored them together. A relationship that surprised me by being so completely perfect while at the same time unexpected was that between Sawyer and Juliette on Lost. That one actually made me cry, and I love it when that happens because it does not occur very often.(less)

Indie Book of the Month: September 2018

This makes two months in a row that I'm late posting my book review. Sorry about that. Other parts of my life are taking too much of my attention away from reading lately. I'll find a happy balance soon, I promise.

For this month's book, I chose The Wounded World by Ariele Sieling.

Earlier this year I reviewed All In, a prequel to The Wounded World. I can definitely detect a maturation in Ms. Si Read more of this blog post »

Another highly biased book, but from the opposite point of view from the last book I reviewed. I felt this one was somewhat mis-titled. Yes, it begins by celebrating Trump's victory in the 2024 election, but it doesn't really mention anything great t ...more

This book is quite biased. Not that I take issue with people who take issue with our current president, I just don't need to be reminded of the author's position in every other paragraph. The evidence presented in this book is sufficient to show that ...more
