Nicholas James West began his writing career by self publishing a post-modern take on superheroes, King of Pain. Subsequently he picked up work for Sunstone Magazine, as well as a comic book adaptation for independent horror film, The Maze.

Upon entering the world of cinema, Nicholas garnered the attention of indie-auteur, Richard Dutcher. The two worked on a freelance project for a future television series, as well as a short film directed by Mr. West.

In 2013 Nicholas was hired to write the feature-length screenplay, Mars, by director and producer, Sohrab Mirmont.

Nicholas is currently writing a graphic novel and a smaller series of comics with Jiro Tamase and Sam Rodriguez.

He lives with his wife and four children in Utah.

"Cat's Eye" by Margaret Atwood looks interesting. And I need to freshen up on some Heinlein. Maybe "Stranger in a Strange Land" or "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress." I'm looking for some good non-fiction too if anyone has any suggestions. (less)

Frank Patrick Herbert
“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
Frank Herbert, Dune
