Mab Morris writes fantasy fiction with reluctant heroines, sword--but without the obvious sorcery, paranormal mystery with ghost pets, and romance with enemies to lovers.

While on sabbatical to care for her elder mother, Mab continues to write. There's a growing canon of books that include the current Ihyel world--The beloved Bone Reader is becoming a trilogy--but more. A non Ihyel series is historical fantasy set in the 1800s, England, with a nonbinary main character. There's also the first in a space adventure.

Find her on FB or Instagram under "MabWrites" and DM her if you'd like to be part of her newsletter, where sneak peeks are available.

I’ve long wanted to walk away from posting blogs. I rarely found any kind of interaction with readers through them, except once, through Our Own Worlds.

I was surprised that my last blog post was in March of 2022. It must have been during a window in caregiving duties, and when I had much more time off than I do now. Then I had my weekends off in a span of a week every six to eight weeks. This

“The kingdom of God is available to you in the here and the now. But the question is whether you are available to the kingdom. Our practice is to make ourselves ready for the kingdom so that it can manifest in the here and the now. You don't need to die in order to enter the kingdom of heaven. In fact, you have to be truly alive in order to do so.”
Thich Nhat Hanh

“Books may look like nothing more than words on a page, but they are actually an infinitely complex imaginotransference technology that translates odd, inky squiggles into pictures inside your head.”
Jasper Fforde, The Well of Lost Plots

“Description begins in the writer’s imagination, but should finish in the reader’s.”
Stephen King, On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft
