She’s also a recent expert on natural disasters, butterflies, and construction equipment—and anything else that fascinates her children. Part time knitter, mother of two, cook for four, and the proud pet parent to three cats and a leopard gecko, finding time to write is always a challenge.

In so many professions, you work all day and don't have anything really tangible to show at the end of it. When I finish a project, I have a beautiful book that I get to sit on the sofa and read to my kids!

The flexibility is pretty nice, too. I can be a full-time stay-at-home mom, work at a couple other odd jobs on the side, and still write in my free time. Since I'm self-published, there aren't any hard deadlines. I work when I can, where I can. (less)
