I’m Sarah.

I love reading, writing, and living stories. Adventure stories are my favorite: Treasure Island, The Chronicles of Narnia, and The Wingfeather Saga occupy the prominent spaces on my bookshelves, alongside the true adventure stories of Amy Carmichael, Helen Roseveare, and Paul Brand.

I’m a home educator (a.k.a. mom) and a pastor’s wife (a.k.a. jack of all trades). I have found that following Jesus is the greatest adventure.

I use stories in the neighborhoods of my community to share the love of Jesus with children and families in need of hope. I hope that the articles, books, Bible lessons, and thoughts inspire you to know, love, and follow Jesus too. My latest novel, "The Winning of Lady Wisdom" will be released on Mar. 21st.

Let’s Try Again

Before the whole fishy incident, God gave Jonah this command: “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and call out against it, for their evil has come up before Me.”

Obviously, Jonah did not like this command, and he attempted to flee from the presence of the Lord. (Mistake #1.)

You’ve probably read how that turned out. Jonah ended in a pile of whale vomit with PTSD and seaweed wrapped around his he

Lori McWilliam Pickert
“Allowing children to learn about what interests them is good, but helping them do it in a meaningful, rigorous way is better. Freedom and choice are good, but a life steeped in thinking, learning, and doing is better. It’s not enough to say, “Go, do whatever you like.” To help children become skilled thinkers and learners, to help them become people who make and do, we need a life centered around those experiences. We need to show them how to accomplish the things they want to do. We need to prepare them to make the life they want.”
Lori McWilliam Pickert

Amy Carmichael
“Nothing could ever matter again but the things that were eternal... There are so many stories already in the world, and so many are splendid and great, that it is difficult to believe it can be worth the telling. But if only I can tell it under direction, it will carry at least one quality of clear, running water- sincerity.”
Amy Carmichael, Gold Cord
