If you're relatively new to Henry James, you might start with his earlier work: The Portrait of a Lady, Washington Square, The Turn of the Screw. His later work is more challenging. If you enjoy reading biographies, Leon Edel's Henry James: A Life, is definitive, and I remember it as totally absorbing. Let me know how it goes. (less)
