She was first a food writer, seafood cookbook author, and speaker focusing on sustainability and transitioned to art in 2020 after a life-threatening cancer diagnosis. Jo Linsdell
“Publication is a marathon, not a sprint. Writing the book is only the start.”
Jo Linsdell

John Cheever
“I can’t write without a reader. It’s precisely like a kiss—you can’t do it alone.”
John Cheever

John F. Kennedy
“All of us have in our veins the exact same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean, and, therefore, we have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears. We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea - whether it is to sail or to watch it - we are going back from whence we came.”
John F. Kennedy

Richard Powers
“If life demanded a slavish commitment to one pursuit, there were worse things to commit to than calculating the cash value of death.”
Richard Powers, The Overstory

Maggie Smith
“If you’re not careful, you can revise the life right out of a piece of writing. If you’re not careful, you can scrub all the weirdness and wildness right out of it. As counterintuitive as it sounds, you can polish it dull.”
Maggie Smith, Keep Moving: Notes on Loss, Creativity, and Change
