I grew up as the middle child in a working class family--not the oldest, not the prettiest, not the boy, not the baby. I learned to work hard, but thankfully I also discovered God, who loves me and continually shapes me into His likeness. Yes, I'm a piece of work! But I'm His workmanship, and I trust His "work in progress" will turn out beautifully in the end.

After many years in the business world, the love for stories infected me. In my free time, I started writing ANNETTI, a Christian romance loosely based on tidbits my grandfather shared about his mother. However, publication eluded me.

The year my first granddaughter was born, I started writing PENNY & THE SEER'S BALLAD, an adventure into the world of Ellandria. Mid-story, I found it nec

I hadn't kept in good touch with my sister, partly due to distance and our divergent life styles. The details I learned when I attended her funeral just didn't seem to add up properly. I don't have much interest in writing murder mysteries, but there's fodder here for a good story--glamorous parties, business intrigue, family betrayal, cultural confusion, language barriers--and a call for a strong female detective. A guilt-ridden sister, perhaps.(less)

I did mail the package on 12/20/2016 and sent it first class parcel through the United States Postal Service. The tracking number was 9500 1214 1962 6355 0027 31. I used the online tracking look-up, and the result says "Delivered, Front Door/Porch ZEPHYRHILLS, FL 33542." So I'm not sure what happened. I don't know what else to do except to send you another copy, but first I would appreciate your confirming that the address provided was correct. Please e-mail me at katiefoth@gmail.com, and I'll e-mail you back to confirm what address was given to me. Thanks, and I do apologize that there's been a problem.(less)

Christmas Songs

Back in the 1950s, a mother bundled up her three young children and headed to a downtown bank to pay off a loan. She held her month-old son in her arms as she ushered her little girls into the huge, old-fashioned lobby.
The two- and three-year-old girls stopped and stared, awed by the high ceiling, stretches of shiny marble floors, and the Christmas garlands, shiny baubles, and red bows everywhere. Read more of this blog post »

Ralph Waldo Emerson
“There is a time in every man's education when he arrives at the conviction that envy is ignorance; that imitation is suicide; that he must take himself for better, for worse, as his portion; that though the wide universe is full of good, no kernel of nourishing corn can come to him but through his toil bestowed on that plot of ground which is given to him to till. The power which resides in him is new in nature, and none but he knows what that is which he can do, nor does he know until he has tried.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson, Self Reliance

Albert Einstein
“If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.”
Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein
“Logic will get you from A to Z; imagination will get you everywhere.”
Albert Einstein

Emily Dickinson
“There is no Frigate like a Book
To take us Lands away
Nor any Coursers like a Page
Of prancing Poetry –
This Traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of Toll –
How frugal is the Chariot
That bears a Human soul.”
Emily Dickinson, Selected Poems

Walt Disney Company
“Laughter is timeless. Imagination has no age. And dreams are forever.”
Walt Disney
