Hi, Geza

You're on the right track by writing in an always-popular genre, but sadly, as an ex-Hollywood-er, I can tell you the Industry wants nothing to do with micro-publishers. With the cost of international thrillers easily topping $50 million minimum, they'll only invest in majorly established authors, series, and publishers to make sure the rights are absolutely nailed down. The best way to land a movie deal is to get a novel published by the Big 5. The studios have scouts poring over every upcoming title, and in almost all cases, the movie rights are sold before the book hits the stands. (less)

One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey
" Another fine compare/contrast. You are finding your groove again in these old counterculture classics. "
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey
"Even though this did not quite reach the highest level of literary achievement for me, it's very fine and often soars; the beloved and great 1975 film improves upon it in some ways, but the book is better than the film in others. They are nice adjunc" Read more of this review »

The Prince by Niccolò Machiavelli
"There's a great joke about fish that I think explains The Prince very well. One fish turns to the other and asks, "how's the water today?" The other fish responds, "what's water?"

Everything written in The Prince feels so self-evident that reading it " Read more of this review »

I’ve always cited Sam Shepard as the coolest star I ever worked with, but after this book, it’s a shock to realize how little I actually knew him. And that my best produced work, the made-for-cable Western PURGATORY (1999), meant so little to him, it ...more
