Lillian White's Blog
August 27, 2018
Hello again!
I know I said I would only be posting on Facebook from now on, https://www.facebook.com/LillianWhiteRomance/but I couldn't resist popping back from time to time. I am having a bit of a tidy up around the site today and hopefully adding new material soon. I intend to go back to the book now that my other projects are complete, so I will keep you updated on that as we go along. Anyway, hoping all is well out there in the big, wide world.Lillian x

Mudlarks and Love Tokens
I love this! Mudlarks and love tokens, all very in keeping with my wip and a fascinating and evocative history in itself. How about giving a love token this Valentine's Day instead of the usual chocolates and flowers? What's a love token? Read this article by 'the gentle author' (not me, I can take no credit for any of this lovely article) of Spitalfields Life. Came across this whilst browsing and really glad I did. If you like the article please take a minute to leave a comment for the author on the Spitalfields Life page. Thank you.http://spitalfieldslife.com/…/…/love-tokens-from-the-thames/

Best Served Cold (How Apt!)
I have added an audio file to the site, a recording of a short story of mine from a good few years ago now. Given the weather most of the country is currently experiencing the title seems very apt just now!If you would like to listen to it and, I hope, enjoy it, the link is here:http://spoldhamauthor.wixsite.com/lillianwhiteromance/christmas-storyAs always, thoughts and comments would be much appreciated.Thank you,Lillian x

The Good Things Jar - Happy New Year!
So, at the start of last year I decided to do a challenge I saw here on Facebook, and began a Good Things 2017 jar. It has been fun and whilst I can't say I put absolutely every good thing that has happened in it this year, I put a lot! How lucky and blessed I felt reading them again just now.
Amongst my favourites are:'Spent day at RHS flower show with ALL my sisters, mum and Emily - 8.4.17;''27.5.17 Red Kite feeding;''Saw a barn owl over the park! Wow! 24..8.17;''Milo, every and any day;''I made a wildlife pond! 22.4.17;''Stroked a Newfoundland puppy in school, 'Sven' 4.4.17;'and last but not least -'Learned a new word - luthier - meaning a maker of stringed instuments such as violins and guitars.14.1.17'What a lovely thing to do! There were so many more things I could have shared with you here, I think I will have trouble throwing these away!I might well keep it going for this year. Why not have a go yourselves? Here's wishing all my readers, supporters, fellow indie authors and everyone else a healthy, happy and loving 2018.Happy New Year everyone!Lillian x

Riding the Circle
New story added today in time for Christmas 2017 touches on a sensitive issue - chronic illness and its effects on love, romance and relationships. Not as heavy a read as it might seem, you might want to keep a tissue close by just in case...Riding the Circle - find it here: http://spoldhamauthor.wixsite.com/lillianwhiteromance/writingAs always, comments and thoughts welcome (as long as they are genuine and constructive, not a badly disguised personal attack as I have recently had to endure, but that's another story!)Lillian x

Beautiful Wedding Transport
Someone recently had a wedding in the park. This lovely old vehicle caught my eye! It made me think about how a Victorian wedding might have looked, and of course there would have been a huge difference between a society wedding and that of the ordinary people.Given the choice, what would your preferred form of wedding transport be? If money was no object? Let your imagination run wild and tell me! Maybe you're already married and your transport was something different, outrageous or classic. Feel free to share photos, just for fun.In the meantime, there is some interesting information about Victorian transport here:https://horsesandhistory.wordpress.co...
