June 2020 update

Second draft of Aftermath, the last in the Driven to Revenge fantasy trilogy completed and about to go out to Beta-readers. Started the prequel entitled Liberty Rock as the third of my thrillers with brilliant feedback from the first two. People are waiting, but I won’t rush it with an approx release date of September 2021. My comedy called Ringing Bells about UK telecoms engineers is also being reviewed by two ex-colleagues... Good luck Peter &Martin, and a big THANKS.

Not writers block

My 17 year old cat is ill and instead of writing at weekends, I feed her and nurse her like a baby. She’s worth it, and I can always make up the time in the future as I have no great drive to become a bestseller. I enjoy writing for me and anyone who may be interested.

Driven to Revenge news

The horror/fantasy, Driven to Revenge is now set to become a trilogy with the aim of having a message about the need to save our planet and to treasure what we currently take for granted. I would like to continue walking through forests and enjoying nature for a while longer.

Calabim?

Here's a first draft from 'Calabim the Destroyer'. (Note: the author may change the title prior to release).
Gazing off into the far distance, Taraden could clearly see the tall assortment of ruined buildings in the wilderness of the lands only known to him from stories he recalled being told by high priest Rudduk as a young boy. They had incorporated mystical tales of man and technologies long since gone from the world. Now, these far away places were said to remain desolate, cold and silent and they awaited a day when new life would return to the land and peace would be able to prevail once again. It appeared that man had been their own worst enemy if all that had been said was true. They’d learnt far too much in a relatively short space of time, which had ultimately led them to their own destruction. Many of these humans had been wiped out by some sort of virus over the last hundred years, as had some of his own people and the surrounding forests. Demons had also had a large hand in that from what he understood, which was something he one day hoped to learn more about and hopefully gain revenge for.

Two on the go....

Still playing with two novels and keep telling myself off. It's great having so many new ideas, but switching between them is not exactly ideal. It will however, be interesting to see which one comes out first. The one called 'Twice Bad' is leading with 'Calabim the Destroyer' (a sequel to Driven to Revenge) currently in second place. Yet I have a feeling that this could easily change...especially where the titles are concerned... I'll keep taking the tablets!!!

Yeah! Winners...

Wow! First time I've tried a giveaway, and I'm pleased to say that 783 people entered this for Janus the Arrival. I hope the winners enjoy their read, a big thanks to all those that entered and Goodreads for making it possible in the first place. That's enough creeping for now, so come on everyone.....Lets get reading and writing.

What a week!

Wow! A real busy one...not that I'm complaining as I quite enjoy my new job. The problem is getting time to write. I have so many ideas as shown from this short excerpt: They may well let you out every now and again to keep fit in the caged exercise yard, and I’m sure you’ll love the strip searches that can prove to be a little intimidating at times. When they finally sentence you and you seek to appeal against it, you’ll find even that can take up to six months, when the systems working properly. Yet I bet that will seem like an absolute lifetime once you’re safely locked up inside. I guess I'll just have to keep fitting bits like that in whenever I can......

Women's roles in films

I had already started writing a new novel with a Dirty Harry type macho lead. Then last week on a UK radio station, an actress was saying that in the average film, 80% of dialogue goes to the male and only 20% to the female. She also went on to state that roles for older women tend to be very few and far between.
OK! So now I've been re-writing the whole 7 Chapters I've already written so that the lead is now more of a Dirty Harriet. She may also have to be a lesbian, as the new partner of the previous incumbent was a younger, pretty looking female, plus I don't fancy changing her into some easily seduced male. Am I right or am I wrong? Who can say.......
