Anna is a writer, tutor and mother of three from South Devon, UK. She has a degree in history from the University of Sheffield. Her first novel, 'Kenneth's Queen' was published in April 2016 and her second, 'The Girl from Brittia' in July 2016. Anna has fallen in love with the Dark Ages, that fabulous period where legend and history collide, and especially the part played by the often uncelebrated and unrecorded women who lived through them. I agree the Dark Ages are fascinating - so many people who helped shape Europe and we know so little about them! Kenneth Mac Alpin is a good example of a king who deserves to be better known. In the scraps of information we have, he emerges as a true Dark Age leader - devious, brutal and yet capable of amazing things! My next book is about another British woman, but not a Scottish one. Again we do not know her name, but her story is remarkable. It's set in an earlier period than Kenneth's Queen. I'm still at an early stage of writing, so I'm afraid I can't give away too much information just yet! I'll be updating this page as I get nearer completion.(less)
