Do not sit there with a blank piece of paper. Do not set aside a time to write. Set no deadlines. If your mind is compelled to write, let it write.... no matter the time of day or whatever your plans are when your mind wants to write. If that moment is inconvenient, make it convenient.... take a small notebook with you (always) so you can jot down what comes to you, or simply record what's in your head on your mobile's voice recorder.
My book took seven years to write. There were times when I would go for weeks without even looking at it, and there were times when (as I truly recorded) I worked on it for 102 hours in one seven day period.(less)
