For a short introduction: I grew up in the upper Midwest, where the forested hills and cloud-dimpled skies always flooded my heart with the inspiration to write. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and Mandarin Chinese from Brigham Young University, and have worked as a client services analyst at a payment facilitator company since 2014. My husband Daren was raised in northern Alberta. He and I currently own a home in central Minnesota with our children.

It feels like I'm blind--like I'm trying to describe what's happening in a movie or stage performance without being able to watch it. Difficult, to say the least! When this blindness strikes, I've learned to put down my pencil or Word document and give myself a break. Often, the vision comes back to me as I'm doing ordinary, every-day tasks. Like yard work or dishes. If it doesn't, I turn to my powerhouse: inspiring music. I let myself wear my best set of headphones, put down anything in my hands, and just listen. It's rare that music won't quickly restore my inspiration!(less)
