Belgian-native Brenda Faucon studied Germanic languages, and has spent the last 26 years as a migrant/expat. Having lived in Germany and the United States, her favorite time she spent in Memphis, Tennessee, where the Blues rules year-round, and where she found a mountain of inspiration to write the Rhythms and Blues Trilogy, even though the idea for the story had lived with her a long time before that. Brenda currently lives in the Pays de la Loire countryside (France), to research her next series of novels which will be set in the area in the 18th Century. She promises an adventurous and outrageous cast of characters! For now though, she is writing Rhythms and Blues, Vol.3, the final installment in the heartwarming and intriguing R&B trilo ...more

When I want to write, even if I have nothing in mind but just want to write, I'll either go outside in the sunshine, find a place to sit - it could be under a tree near a brook, or somewhere with good people watching (like a cafe terrace). Then I think up a scene that I need, or just something that might happen in the lives of my characters. It's a way to get to know my characters. I answer a question to myself: "what would they do if... ?" And take it from there. Another way to think about things is to go to bed with my headset on, some good music, and just dream away. (less)
