Christmas fast approaching
Hi
Christmas is fast approaching and here in Perth, today, the temperature is hot and sunny at 34C (93F for you northerners). Tomorrow it will be cooler, down to 26C (78F), so they say, which is fortunate as I'm playing in the last match of a croquet pennant tournament in the evening and my team is looking good, undefeated to date. Wish us luck that we remain so.
On the book news, if you haven't read the first book in the Emma Berry series (A Gem of a Problem) and would like to, it is available on NetGalley for review. You can read for free and post your review anywhere - Goodreads, Amazon, any online retailer, or a blog.

I will be putting Book 2 (A Body in the Woodpile) up on NetGalley early next year, so keep an eye out for it. In the meantime I am working on the third and final in the series, Murder at the Mill, where some problems don't have a cut and dried solution, and some story lines come together.
Merry Christmas (hot or cold).

Plotting the plot
Feeling a bit inundated with other bits of life in general at the moment and am struggling to develop an idea for an Emma Berry Murray River Mysteries novella that I want to make permanently free as an ebook. I keep getting snippets of ideas, round about when I close my eyes at night or when I first wake, but until I put pen to paper that is all they will remain - snippets.
I need to sit down and expand on some of those ideas. Or do I? Is it too early yet? Do I need to let these snippets grow a bit more? I have my main characters- Emma, and the Macdonald family. A setting- Nettifields the Macdonald's farm. Several other characters- visitors Claude Devereaux and his spoilt younger sister, Mr Macdonald's estranged half-brother (who has a limp), Captain Daniel Berry of the steamer Mary B.
There must be others. I may have a victim but no murderer yet, and I know the method, I think, but not the motive. It's a bit like Cluedo, isn't it? Put all the pieces together and shake. See what falls out. Any suggestions?
